We are currently seeking an interim Clinicals Technician (Hot Room), to work with our global FMCG client Unilever, renowned for brands such as Dove, Sure, Persil, and Simple, and become an integral part of their fast-paced FMCG environment.

The position is based at our client''s scientific Research andamp; Development facility in Port Sunlight Village, Wirral easily accessible by train and car. This is a temporary role to run for 12 months, requiring 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Compensation for this role is competitive, paying up to £12.67 per hour, depending upon experience.

Working Hours: 30 hours per week over 4 days, Monday-Friday.

The job requires the staff member to start between 08:00 andamp; 08:15 most days (to fit with the schedule of subject visits times).

Please note; the vacancy is only open to females as the role involves taking samples from, and applying products to, female panellists who will be partially clothed.

Job Purpose

To support Hot Room testing of antiperspirant efficacy on panels of healthy human volunteers in line with the requirements of the Deodorants Randamp;D Programme as part of the Deo Clinicals hot room team.

  1. Key Responsibilities/Tasks
  • Perform, accurately and reproducibly, the key elements of hot room test protocols, including product applications, sweat collection and sweat weighing; provide accurate documentation of test data
  • Scheduling of quarterly testing plans in association with hot room colleagues based at the Leeds Randamp;D site
  • Treat panellists according to test protocols; all panellists being dealt with professionally, courteously and according to the Consumer Centre Code of Conduct and Clinicals Standard Operating Procedures. This involves application of products to panellist''s underarms
  • Set-up and conduct of hot room tests using menu driven computer applications
  • Organise the recruitment, and complete the screening, of new subjects for the hot room panel
  • Organise and deliver the annual consenting and medical screening update for the established hot room panel
  • Participate in the routine work associated with the various protocols; this involves, for example: labelling test products; use of balances; organising product retains; processing documentation archiving
  • Use of standard computer-based packages to (e.g. Word, JMP and web-based systems) within study preparation and conduct
  • Be competent in the accurate entry of data into various software templates
  • Experience with computer-based systems, e.g. analysis and data storage systems, would be advantageous
  • Reporting of study outcomes to project teams
  • Conduct of Aluminium swabbing detection test

The jobholder must have:

  • Be female, due to the nature of test and the use of female panellists
  • Demonstrate the ability to work accurately under pressure (e.g. time constraints) in a courteous and professional manner
  • Be numerate and literate to GCSE level, or equivalent
