Clinical Safety Officer

Overview: The Clinical Safety Officer (CSO) provides clinical safety assurance across the digital product life cycle, ensuring compliance with DCB0129 and DCB0160 standards. The role involves leading clinical risk management, including hazard analysis, Safety Assurance Levels (SAL), and development of Clinical Safety Cases and hazard logs.You will support incident investigations, contribute to governance forums, and embed clinical safety into agile and user-centred delivery. This role requires a proactive, collaborative approach to balancing patient safety with delivery pace.Key Responsibilities:Lead clinical risk identification and hazard analysisDevelop and maintain Clinical Safety Cases and hazard logsAdvise on safe clinical design and risk mitigationSupport incident reviews and post-implementation assessmentsEngage with governance groups and stakeholdersEmbed clinical safety within agile delivery teamsKey Requirements:Clinically qualified and registered (eg GMC, NMC, HCPC)Certified Clinical Safety Officer with ongoing CPDStrong experience with DCB0129 and DCB0160Background in digital health delivery (agile/DevOps/UCD)Expertise in risk assessment, incident management, and safety documentationStrong stakeholder management and communication skillsAbility to work collaboratively and influence across teamsProactive, solution-focused mindsetReasonable Adjustments:Respect and equality are core values to us.
