Permanent | 37.5 hrs per weekWe''re looking for an experienced Nurse Prescriber (RMN/RMLD/RGN) to support the ADHD and neurodevelopmental pathways in Sheffield CAMHS. This is an exciting time of growth, and you''ll help support the team through this process.You''ll work autonomously to assess, diagnose, and treat young people, and will have access to support from both medical and non-medical colleagues to provide a safe, professional environment.You will combine community and clinic-based work, where you''ll build relationships with young people and their families. Responsibilities

Reporting into the Matron, your responsibilities will include:

Conduct specialist assessments, both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, to identify the needs of children and young people with autism and ADHD, including complex cases.

Identify and manage mental health difficulties and make appropriate referrals

Apply evidence-based practice throughout the assessment, implementation, and evaluation of care for children, young people, and their families.

Be a subject matter expert on ADHD and autism within the team, supporting the development of knowledge.

Monitor the physical and mental health of children and young people with ADHD, making clinical decisions.

Administer medications following the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and local policy.

Work with schools to assess and support the ongoing management of young people in these settings.

Maintain accurate clinical records, provide clear information and prepare reports that comply with Trust and professional guidelines.

Qualifications and experience

Knowledge and skillsExperience of the assessment and triage of referrals in a Community CAMHS settingKnowledge of a broad range of therapy approaches to the treatment of children, young people and their families presenting to CAMHS.Specialist knowledge in relation to ADHD and AutismIn-depth knowledge of relevant legal frameworks relevant to CAMHS.Conversant with relevant Health and Safety guidelines impacting the CAMHS service.Excellent self-management - time/organisational skillsExcellent Communication / interpersonal skills (verbal / written)To have good keyboard / IT skills to effectively use and input data to CAMHS information systems, use of email, the intranet, internet and an ability to prepare written reportsExperience of providing consultation to multidisciplinary and multiagency colleges.Hold a current UK driving licence and have access to a vehicleDesirableConflict resolutionNegotiating and influencing

Experience

Qualifications and training

EssentialCurrent Nursing registration (RMN/ RNLD/RGN)Post registration training in independent and supplementary prescribing.Post registration training in the assessment of Autism or a willingness to undertake this training as soon as possible when in post.ENB 603 / Diploma in CAMH or equivalent or specialist post registration clinical training relevant to CAMHSTeaching and Assessing ENB 998 / Mentorship or equivalent.DesirableDegree in relevant subject
