In this role, you will be responsible for actively identifying patients in the Emergency Department who are likely in their last year of life, providing specialist palliative care and facilitating their prompt discharge to appropriate care providers, aligned with patients'' preferred place of care.Primary job responsibilities includeLead on clinical assessments and care planningProvide advanced symptom control and communication supportCoordinate with community and hospital palliative care services to facilitate rapid discharge home/preferred place of careSupervise Senior Healthcare Assistants, mentor emergency department staff, and support team learningAbout us

You will also manage nursing services for individuals with terminal illnesses, supporting their loved ones, and collaborating with health professionals. As a vital member of our multidisciplinary team, you will offer expert advice and support, managing a caseload of patients with complex needs while ensuring the highest standards of care.This role exemplifies person-centred leadership, clinical excellence, and effective multidisciplinary collaboration, all of which are crucial for Marie Curie to achieve its strategic goals. North Middlesex University Hospital, LondonWhat we''re looking for:Experience working in Specialist Palliative Care. Proven experience in providing care to patients with complex needs, ensuring comfort and quality of life during terminal illness.Prior experience managing complex discharges within an emergency department is preferred but not required.Registered Nurse on NMC register (Adult).
