Clinical Nurse Specialist - Myeloma

Overview
We currently have a vacancy in the haematology CNS service for a permanent Myeloma CNS. The individual will provide high-quality cancer nursing service to patients throughout their cancer journey, with responsibility for enhancing the patient experience, ensuring continuity of care and influencing patient pathways.We are looking for innovative individuals who would be interested in working within the haematology multidisciplinary team at Imperial Healthcare NHS Trust.Role and responsibilities
Provide specialist nursing advice, care and support to patients with haematology cancer and facilitate high quality, individualised care to patients/clients and relatives/carers, both inpatients and outpatients in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team and in line with local and national targets.Place the needs of the patient at the centre of care delivery; where appropriate act as a key worker.Work to improve the patient experience throughout the patient journey.Deputise for the line manager in designated tasks relevant to the development of the role/clinical speciality.Act as a professional role model, providing direct and indirect clinical care, teaching and research.About us

Education and qualificationsEssential: NMC registration and a degree in a related subject.Essential: Post-registration qualification(s) in speciality or relevant subject, e.g. Haematology-specific course or Cancer care course.Optional: Advanced Communication course and Level 2 psychological skills training.ExperienceEssential: Relevant and substantial post-registration experience at band 6 or above in the speciality.Essential: Experience of working as a Clinical Nurse Specialist.Essential: Experience of teaching and assessing others.Essential: Experience of audit and service development.Desirable: MSc or MA in related speciality.Desirable: Recognised physical assessment module at level 7.Desirable: Research experience and experience of leading and managing.Skills and abilitiesEssential: In-depth knowledge of the speciality and use of evidence-based practice.Essential: Advanced communication skills and ability to manage complex situations.Essential: Excellent organisational skills.Desirable: Ability to lead and influence change.Other information
