Clinical Deputy Manager

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Clinical Deputy Manager to join a specialist 32-bed service supporting adults with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), Progressive Neurological Conditions (PNC) and associated complex physical health needs.
The service supports individuals with a range of complex needs, including epilepsy, communication difficulties, dysphagia, tracheostomy and long-term ventilation needs, as well as complex physical disabilities.
Working alongside the Home Manager, the Clinical Deputy Manager will provide strong clinical and operational leadership across the service, helping to ensure the delivery of safe, effective and high-quality person-centred care while maintaining regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities of a Clinical Deputy Manager:
- Supporting the Home Manager to ensure the service operates effectively and consistently meets CQC regulatory standards
- Providing leadership, guidance and support to nursing and care teams to deliver high-quality person-centred care
- Providing clinical and operational leadership across the service
- Working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team including Nurses, Care colleagues, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists and Psychologists
- Building positive relationships with residents, families, colleagues, commissioners and external professionals
- Leading regular team meetings and promoting open and transparent communication
- Supporting the recruitment, induction, development and retention of staff
- Overseeing risk assessments, care planning and clinical governance processes
- Conducting audits and quality assurance activities and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
- Supporting service development initiatives and the implementation of best practice
- Creating a positive working environment where staff feel valued, supported and empowered to succeed
Key requirements of a Clinical Deputy Manager:
- Registered Nurse qualification with an active NMC registration
- Strong clinical knowledge and decision-making skills
- Previous experience in a senior nursing leadership role
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience of clinical governance, audits, risk management and regulatory compliance
- A passion for delivering high-quality, person-centred care
- Experience supporting individuals with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) would be beneficial
- Experience in tracheostomy management would be beneficial
- Experience supporting people who require long-term ventilation would be beneficial
- Experience working within neurological rehabilitation or complex care settings would be beneficial
