Clinical Assessor – Hybrid Role

Location: Taunton
Hybrid: Home-Based & Regional Clinic-Based
Salary: £39,500 – £41,500 + Annual Bonus + Pay Reviews
Contract Type: Permanent – Full-Time (40 hrs) or Part-Time (24 or 34 hrs)
Hours: Monday to Friday | No weekends, evenings, or shift work

Overview We are seeking qualified healthcare professionals to join our expanding team as Clinical Assessors. This is a non-treatment role, ideal for clinicians seeking improved work-life balance, ongoing professional development, and a structured, supportive environment.

  • Registered Nurses (RGN, RMN, RNLD)
  • Occupational Therapists
  • Physiotherapists
  • Paramedics
What You’ll Do As a Clinical Assessor, you will use your expertise to conduct functional assessments on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). Assessments focus on understanding how a claimant’s health condition or disability impacts their daily life.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Conducting telephone, video, and face-to-face assessments
  • Reviewing medical evidence and completing structured clinical reports
  • Working on either WCA (Work Capability Assessment) cases
Hybrid Working Model
  • 50% Remote – Telephone or video assessments from home
  • 50% On-site – Face-to-face assessments at a local clinic
  • You must reside within commutable distance to one of our South West regional clinics:
    Taunton | Truro | St Austell | Redruth | Penzance | Exeter | Plymouth | Torquay | Barnstaple | Holsworthy

Candidate Requirements
  • Valid HCPC or NMC registration
  • Minimum of 1 year’s post-registration experience (recent, hands-on clinical work essential)
  • Excellent clinical judgement, communication, and IT skills
  • UK residency and full right to work (sponsorship not available)
