Climbing Arborist

Work Areas: Hertfordshire and North East London
Hours: Permanent, full-time (40 hours per week), Monday to Friday, 7:30 am – 4:00 pm
Salary: £30,000 – £45,000 (plus company pension)
Contractors: Arboriculture subcontractors on short- to medium-term contracts also welcome – competitive rates negotiable

Key Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of tree surgery tasks
• Chip and process brash and timber
• Provide aerial rescue support when required
• Consistently adhere to Health & Safety standards
• Deliver all arboricultural work to a high professional standard
• Lead and manage a team in line with project and contractual requirements
• Liaise with clients, colleagues, and occasionally members of the public
• Carry out thorough risk assessments and minimise hazards

Essential Qualifications & Skills

• CS31 – Fell small trees
• CS38 – Climb trees & perform aerial rescue
• CS39 – Operate chainsaw from rope & harness
• CSCS Card 
• Brushwood chipper operations (NPTC or Lantra certified)
• First Aid at Work + F
• Knowledge of Chapter 8 signing, lighting, and guarding
• Strong motivation, with the ability to work safely and to a high standard

Desirable Experience & Certifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ climbing experience
• Tow chippers/trailers licence
• C1 licence entitlement
• CS41 – Aerial rigging
• IPAF qualification
