What You''ll Be Doing

As an SEN Classroom Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils both academically and emotionally, helping them to thrive within the school environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting pupils with their learning activities, personal development, and care needs.
  • Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive behaviour.
  • Building positive, trusting relationships that help pupils feel safe, supported, and valued.
  • Assisting teachers in delivering engaging and accessible lessons across a broad and balanced curriculum.
  • Adapting your approach to meet the individual needs of each pupil.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

What We''re Looking For

We''re seeking individuals who are patient, compassionate, and committed to helping children succeed.

You will ideally have:

  • Experience working within special educational needs settings or supporting individuals with disabilities, including autism (desirable).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach when working with children from a variety of backgrounds and with differing needs.
  • The ability to be organised, proactive, and adaptable within a dynamic school environment.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children''s learning, wellbeing, and development.
  • GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/Level 3 or above).

Desirable Qualifications

  • Level 2 (or above) qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning.
