Class 2 Dust Cart Driver

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated HGV 2 Dustcart Driver for our waste management client. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating a Dust Cart (HGV) Class 2 vehicle to collect and transport Commercial waste materials efficiently across designated routes. Your expertise will ensure that waste collection is performed reliably, adhering to safety standards and environmental regulations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong driving skills, a professional attitude, and a commitment to maintaining high service standards.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate an HGV 2 dustcart vehicle along assigned routes, ensuring timely collection of waste from commercial and residential sites
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections, including checking fluid levels, brakes, lights, and safety equipment, to maintain compliance with safety regulations
• Load and secure waste materials properly to prevent spillage or accidents during transit
• Maintain accurate records of collections, route completion times, and any incidents or vehicle issues
• Follow all health and safety protocols while handling waste materials and operating heavy machinery
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding schedule updates or service issues
• Adhere strictly to traffic laws, environmental policies, and company procedures during all operations

Requirements

• Valid HGV 2 (Class C) driving license with a clean driving record
• Proven experience as a commercial driver, preferably in waste collection or delivery roles
• Knowledge of dustcart operations is advantageous
• Strong driving skills with the ability to maneuver large vehicles safely in various environments
• Excellent understanding of road safety regulations and environmental compliance standards
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as loading waste bins and climbing into vehicles regularly
• Good communication skills and a professional attitude towards customers and team members
