Class 2 Driver

Freeway Recruitment are actively seeking Class 2 Home delivery Drivers to work for their client who are a multi national DIY and building materials supplier covering the additional peak vehicles. Position - Class 2 driver Pay - 15.42 per hour PAYE, Overtime paid at 23.13 per hour for anything after 9 hours per shift Monday to Friday and all day Saturday and 30.84 per hour for all work carried out on a Sunday or Bank Holiday. Working week - 5 and 6 over 7 days Start times - 08:00 am Contracted Shift is 9 hours with a 1 hour break deducted. Paid for a min of 8 hours per shift. The role - Home delivery You will be working in a double manned team , delivering Building and home DIY products to customers houses. Vehicles you will be using will either be 7.5 tonne or 10 Tonne box waggons with a tail lift. This role will be subject to 2 days training when you have successfully completed your first 40 hours. The role itself will be to arrive on site on time , complete your 15 minute walk around and then help your porter or second driver load the vehicle with the runs for that day. The deliveries will involve both palleted and handball with some heavier than usual items expected. You will be using their end to end digital delivery system for your deliveries and sat navigation, there will be an element of training on this to get you up to speed with using the system.
