Class 1 Shunter in Sheffield

Ideal Recruit is currently recruiting Class 1 Shunter Drivers for a well-established client based in Sheffield.

 

Job Role

• Safely moving trailers and vehicles around the yard

• Coupling and uncoupling trailers

• Positioning vehicles at loading bays

• Carrying out basic vehicle checks

• Ensuring all movements are completed safely and efficiently

• Following site safety rules and procedures at all times

 

Candidate Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must:

• Hold a valid UK driving licence (HGV licence preferred but not essential, depending on site)

• Have previous shunter or yard experience (preferred)

• Be confident manoeuvring vehicles in a busy yard environment

• Have a good understanding of health & safety

• Be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently

 

Pay & Shifts

• Competitive PAYE rates Days £16.50 and Nights £17.92

• Shifts:

• Friday, Saturday and Sunday 

• Ongoing work with potential for long-term opportunities
