The Role

As a Class 1 Driver, you''ll be responsible for completing planned deliveries and collections while ensuring all transport operations are carried out safely, efficiently and in line with current legislation.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class 1 (Category CE) articulated vehicles.
• Complete scheduled deliveries and collections across the UK.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects immediately.
• Ensure all loads are correctly secured and transported safely.
• Complete all delivery paperwork and electronic records accurately.
• Comply with DVSA regulations, Drivers'' Hours Rules and the Working Time Directive.
• Maintain accurate digital tachograph records at all times.
• Communicate effectively with the transport office regarding journey progress, delays or incidents.
• Keep vehicles clean, roadworthy and professionally presented.

What We''re Looking For

To be successful in this role, you''ll need:

• A valid UK Category CE (Class 1) driving licence.
• A valid Driver CPC qualification.
• A valid Digital Tachograph Card.
• Good knowledge of UK road transport legislation and drivers'' hours regulations.
• A strong commitment to health and safety.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• The ability to work independently while also being part of a wider transport team.
• Flexibility to work varying start times, with occasional nights away when required.
