Class 1 HGV Driver

Class 1 Driver (Huntingdon) - £45,427.20 p.a. + benefits. As a Class 1 Driver you will be responsible for moving stock from our main DC in Huntingdon to our X-Dock locations as well as stores across the UK.The RoleAs one of our Class 1 / Trunk Drivers you will be part of a team that moves the stock from our main DC in Huntingdon to our X-Dock locations as well as stores across the UK. We have a certain number of trunk drivers based at each DC. This role will include morning and evening shifts along with overnight stays when required.OperationsTransport finished goods and raw materials over land to and from manufacturing plants or retail and distribution centres.Conduct a vehicle inspection at the start of each journey for mechanical items and safety issues and report any issues through the company defect policyComplete all documentation relating to the journey made and the products carrier correctly and accuratelyPlan your route to ensure your meet delivery schedules and that the most efficient route is taken at all timesComply with current legislation and regulation relating to the driving and operating of the vehicleManoeuvre vehicles / trailers / de-mount boxes into loading or unloading positions and assist shunters at DC''s if requiredReport any accident or incident in accordance with company guidelinesWork on a rotational shift pattern in line with your colleagues.
