Class 1 Drivers

Edge Staffing are currently recruiting experienced Class 1 Drivers (HGV C+E) for ongoing work with our client in the Gateshead area. We are looking for both day drivers and trampers for this contract. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity for the right drivers.

Work is available from both the Gateshead and Birtley depots.

Pay Rates

• Agency: £15.85 - £17.76 per hour (breaks paid)
• £25 night out allowance (PNO)
• Full-time salary potential: £42,000–£50,000 per year

The Role

• General haulage work (Curtain siders)
• Ongoing work available Monday to Friday

Class 1 Driver Requirements

• Minimum 12 months’ Class 1 (C+E) driving experience
• Must have held Class 1 licence for at least 2 years
• Valid CPC and Digi Tacho card
• No more than 6 penalty points (no DR or IN codes)
• Strong knowledge of UK road laws and safe driving practices
• Reliable, professional, and positive attitude
