Class 1 Driver

The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting on behalf of our well known and industry-leading client based in Preston.- We are looking for experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers (CAT C+E) to join the team.

Shifts: Monday to Friday

Hours-: 08:30am - 09:30am starts-

Pay Rate: -16.36 per hour PAYE with overtime at -24.54 after 40 hours-

Location: Preston, PR2 5BL-

Job Type: Ongoing-

The role:

- Collections only - up to 12 stops.

. Manual handling required as drivers will assist with loading and unloading parcels at depots and customers locations.-

- Collaborate with a team to ensure efficient operations and timely Collections / deliveries.

.Operating devices and company software to update delivery status and to communicate with the depot.-

- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle, ensuring roadworthiness and compliance with company standards.

- Adhere to all relevant traffic laws, regulations, and company policies to maintain a high level of safety on the road.

- Effectively communicate with dispatch and logistics teams to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.

Requirements:

- Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (category C+E).

- Have at least 6 months of proven experience driving the relevant vehicle.

- Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.

- No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).

- Full understanding of WTD legislation.

- Excellent communication skills.

- A safety-first mindset.
