About the Role
As a Class 1 Driver based in Swindon, you will support Royal Mail’s nationwide trunking operations, moving mail between depots on planned routes. This temporary, ongoing role offers flexible hours, with morning, evening and weekend shifts available. No handballing is required; your focus will be on clean, professional driving and completing thorough vehicle checks. You will represent a trusted brand on every run, following schedules with precision while upholding high safety standards. The hourly rate ranges from £21.99 to £25.12. 🚚 The Job
- Trunking between Royal Mail depots
- No handballing — just organised, planned routes
- Morning, evening and weekend shifts available
- Transport mail between national sites
- Complete vehicle checks and uphold top‑tier safety
- Follow scheduled routes with precision
- Represent Royal Mail with professionalism on every run
- Valid HGV Class 1 / C+E licence (held for 2+ years)
- A valid and in date CPC + Digital Tachograph card
- 180+ days of Class 1 driving experience in the last 2 years
- Max 6 points on your licence
- Able to pass vetting & DBS checks
- Excellent pay: £21.99–£25.12 p/h (shift dependent)
- Guaranteed minimum daily hours
- Weekly pay, holiday accrual & pension (PAYE)
- Option to secure preferred shifts after assessment
- Onsite parking & canteen facilities are available in most Depots
- Support from the onsite Pertemps team
