About the Role

Rapier Employment is seeking an experienced HGV Class 1 driver for store deliveries based in Hatfield. This full-time position offers a choice of shifts: Tuesday to Saturday or Sunday to Thursday, with day starts between 04:00–06:00 and late starts between 12:00–17:00. Standard pay ranges from £20.44 to £21.76 per hour, with overtime after eight hours at £30.65 to £32.65 per hour. You will transport retail goods from the distribution centre to stores across the region, requiring a valid Class 1 licence and a professional approach to service. The Role
As an HGV Class 1 Driver, you'll be responsible for delivering retail goods from the distribution centre to stores across North
London, Essex and Kent.
Your responsibilities will include:

Completing store deliveries safely and efficiently.
Transporting predominantly palletised loads with minimal manual handling.
Carrying out daily vehicle checks and reporting any defects.
Ensuring all deliveries are completed accurately and on time.
Completing delivery paperwork and maintaining compliance with transport regulations.
Delivering excellent customer service at every location.

Average shift lengths are 8–12 hours, depending on your route, with regular start times and ongoing work available.
RequirementsTo be considered, you'll need:

A valid HGV Class 1 (Category CE) licence.
A valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
At least 1 year's Class 1 driving experience.
No more than 6 penalty points (no major endorsements).
A good understanding of Drivers' Hours, Working Time Directive and road transport legislation.
A professional, reliable and customer-focused attitude.
