About the Role
Rapier Employment seeks Class 1 Driver to support a client in Reading. This full-time, temporary post pays £20.21–£29.43 hourly, with starts between 12:00 and 16:00. A category C+E licence held for six months is essential. The site runs 24/7; Saturday and Sunday coverage is required, plus three weekdays, giving five shifts weekly. Ad hoc work may suit those wanting one or two days. Duties involve trunking to distribution centres nationwide, completing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks, and reporting mechanical faults. Each shift guarantees eight hours. Applicants must demonstrate safe driving, reliability, and flexibility across weekend and weekday rotas.

Position: Class 1 Driver
Days: Site operate 24/7 - weekday and weekend
Pay: £20.21 - £29.43 per hour
Times: Start times between 12:00 - 16:00
Days: Saturday and Sunday is a must with 3 other days in the week - 5 days available if both weekend days are covered. If looking for 1-2 days, reach out as we could have some adhoc shifts
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Trunking to a variety of distribution centres across the country
- Guaranteed 8 hours a shift
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure road worthiness and report any maintenance or mechanical issues
- Weekend and weekday work available
Requirements:
- Full UK Licence (Cat C+E)
- CPC Card
- Digi Card
- Held licence for 6 months (category C+E)
