Job Title: Class 1 Driver Location: Birtley Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent Pay Rate: £16.25phr rising to £17.10 per hour when full time Start Date: ASAP Edge Staffing is currently recruiting for a reliable and experienced Class 1 Driver on behalf of our client.This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established logistics operation offering consistent hours, competitive pay, and long-term stability. Schedule and Shift Pattern Start Times: Between 15:00 and 19:00 Shift Pattern: Rolling 2-week rota Shifts: 10-hour shifts, Monday to Friday No weekends required Night shift role Applicants must be flexible, with occasional early starts based on operational needs. Key Responsibilities Perform local self-loading collections prior to trunking. Ensure accurate completion of all delivery and collection notes. Maintain a clean and tidy working environment (vehicle and loading area). Plan routes efficiently to meet delivery times. Load and unload roll cages and pallets as required. Work flexibly to accommodate varying job requirements. Requirements Class 1 licence (held for 2+ years for insurance purposes). Valid digital tachograph card and CPC card. Maximum of 6 penalty points on driving licence. Confident with self-loading and unloading throughout the shift.
