About the Role
As a Class 1 Driver at East Midlands Airport, you’ll operate from our Kegworth base, transporting mail between Royal Mail depots across the UK. This flexible contract offers £21.44 to £24.57 per hour, with morning, evening, and weekend shifts available. No handballing is required—just clean, professional driving on planned trunking routes. Key responsibilities include completing thorough vehicle checks, adhering to safety standards, and following schedules with precision. - Trunking between Royal Mail depots
- No handballing — just organised, planned routes
- Morning, evening and weekend shifts available
- Transport mail between national sites
- Complete vehicle checks and uphold top‑tier safety
- Follow scheduled routes with precision
- Represent Royal Mail with professionalism on every run
- Valid HGV Class 1 / C+E licence (held for 2+ years)
- A valid and in date CPC + Digital Tachograph card
- 180+ days of Class 1 driving experience in the last 2 years
- Max 6 points on your licence
- Able to pass vetting & DBS checks
- Excellent pay: £21.44- £24.57 p/h (shift dependent)
- Guaranteed minimum daily hours
- Weekly pay, holiday accrual & pension (PAYE)
- Option to secure preferred shifts after assessment
- Onsite parking & canteen facilities are available in most Depots
- Support from the onsite Pertemps team
