Class 1 Driver

Overview

We are seeking a professional and dependable Class 1 Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating commercial vehicles, including flatbed lorries, to deliver goods efficiently and on time. Candidates must hold a valid Class 1 licence and have relevant driving experience, preferably with flatbed and commercial vehicles.

Duties

• Safely operate Class 1 lorries, including flatbed trucks, across designated routes
• Ensure the secure loading and unloading of goods, adhering to safety regulations
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after journeys to identify any maintenance needs or safety issues
• Plan efficient delivery routes to meet deadlines while maintaining safety standards
• Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery logs and vehicle checklists
• Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery schedules or any issues encountered during transit
• Maintain a professional appearance and uphold the company''s reputation during all interactions with clients and colleagues

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 driving licence with a clean driving record
• Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed lorries and delivery vehicles
• Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices in transportation
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan routes efficiently
• Good physical fitness to handle loading/unloading tasks and long hours on the road
• Ability to work independently, demonstrating reliability and punctuality
• Prior experience with delivery driver roles is highly desirable
