About the Role
As a Class 1 Driver based in Leigh, you will carry out multi-drop pallet deliveries using modern vehicles, operating Monday to Friday from 07:00 to 17:00 on a temporary ongoing basis. This full-time role pays £16.00 per hour, with £17.00 per hour for ADR-qualified drivers. You will work for a third-party logistics provider serving sectors including drayage, freight forwarding, and full truckload transport. Immediate starts are available, with potential temp-to-perm options for suitable candidates. Our client is a third-party provider of transportation and logistics services that offers a range of services from, Drayage, Global freight forwarding andamp; Full truckload transport. The company is committed to environmental sustainability and works with customers to create action plans to reduce emissions.
What you''ll do on a typical day:
- Carry out multi-drop pallet deliveries, typically completing 5 to 15 drops per day.
- Deliver to a range of customer sites and branches across the region.
- Around 60% of deliveries are FLT (Forklift Truck) offloaded, with the remainder using pump trucks, so there is an element of manual handling involved.
- Operate your Class 1 vehicle safely and in line with company and road safety standards.
- Use a handheld scanner and complete all necessary delivery paperwork.
- Perform daily vehicle checks to ensure compliance with VOSA and legal roadworthiness standards.
What you need to succeed with our client:
- A valid HGV Class 1 licence, CPC, and Digital Tachograph Card.
- ADR certification is preferred but not essential - higher rate applies if held.
- No more than 6 penalty points on your licence, with no DD, DR, IN, or CD endorsements.
- Proven multi-drop delivery experience.
- Good knowledge of the UK road network.
- A professional, reliable, and can-do attitude.
