Civil/Structural Engineer

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Civil/Structural Engineer to join the Central Engineering team of a leading international engineering and construction organisation in Dublin.

This is an excellent opportunity for a design-focused engineer with 6-15 years'' experience to work on large-scale, technically complex projects within the data centre, mission-critical, advanced technology and industrial sectors.

You will be part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, taking responsibility for structural design and technical delivery across a range of major projects. The position will provide exposure to both design development and construction, working closely with clients, consultants, engineers and project delivery teams.

As a Civil/Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for undertaking and reviewing structural designs, preparing calculations, reviewing drawings and specifications, supporting design development and providing technical input throughout project delivery.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Designing and assessing structures in steel, reinforced concrete, in-situ and precast concrete.
• Preparing structural calculations using industry-standard software.
• Applying Eurocodes and relevant local regulations to international projects.
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and structural submissions.
• Supporting the development of structural details and design standards.
• Raising RFIs and technical submittals during design development.
• Attending client and consultant meetings.
• Undertaking site surveys, inspections and monitoring structural works.
• Coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering and construction teams.
• Managing your own workload across multiple projects.
• Supporting the management of structural design consultants and technical scopes.
• Taking technical responsibility for the quality of design deliverables.

We are looking for a technically strong Civil/Structural Engineer with a background in structural design consultancy and strong experience across both steel and concrete structures.

You should have:

• A degree or equivalent qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 6-15 years'' relevant engineering experience.
• Strong structural design experience across steel and concrete.
• A good understanding of structural load paths and building stability.
• Strong knowledge of Eurocodes and relevant National Annexes.
• Experience with AutoCAD and structural design software such as Tedds, Tekla Structural Designer or similar.
• Strong technical report writing and communication skills.
• Experience dealing with clients and consultants.
• The ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively under pressure.
• A proactive approach with the confidence to make engineering decisions independently.
• A willingness to travel within Ireland and internationally when required.
• Ideally, you will be working towards Chartered Engineer status.

Experience within a contractor environment and previous exposure to data centres or other mission-critical projects would be highly advantageous.
