We are currently looking for an experienced Civils Planner to support the delivery of a major energy infrastructure project based in Peterhead, Scotland.

Working as part of an established project delivery team, the Project Planner will take responsibility for developing, maintaining and monitoring the project programme, providing clear visibility of progress, critical activities, risks and potential delays.

This opportunity would particularly suit a Planner with experience delivering complex EPC, construction or engineering projects within power generation, oil & gas, refinery/petrochemical or transmission & distribution environments.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain and update detailed project schedules using Primavera P6
  • Monitor progress against the baseline programme and identify schedule variance
  • Undertake critical path and float analysis, highlighting emerging risks and potential delays
  • Work closely with engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning teams to accurately capture project progress
  • Produce short-term lookaheads, progress reports, dashboards and schedule forecasts
  • Monitor key project milestones, interfaces and dependencies
  • Support programme recovery and mitigation planning where required
  • Provide clear schedule information to Project Managers and senior stakeholders
  • Assist with change control and assessment of schedule impacts
  • Ensure programmes accurately reflect the status and sequence of works on site


Experience Required:


The successful candidate will have strong project planning/scheduling experience within a heavy industrial or major engineering environment, ideally with exposure to power generation, refineries/petrochemicals, transmission & distribution, or oil & gas.


Degree in Civil Engineering preferred, or 5+ years of planning heavy civils and related works on major projects.


You will be confident using Primavera P6 and comfortable working closely with engineering and site-based construction teams on complex, multidisciplinary projects. Experience across the full project lifecycle, including engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning, would be highly advantageous.


This is an initial 9-month contract opportunity in Peterhead, offering the chance to support a significant heavy industry project within the energy sector.
