Civils Highway Engineer

OverviewI am looking for an experienced Civil Highways Engineer to support a large scale infrastructure programme on a portfolio of projects in the Inverness area.With multiple schemes progressing from detailed design into delivery phases, this role will focus on the review and assurance of highway designs, alongside coordination of external approvals and interfaces.Key ResponsibilitiesReview and assess highway engineering designs to ensure compliance with relevant technical specifications and project engineering guidanceProvide assurance that designs are practical, consistent, and suitable for constructionAct as the single point of contact with The Highland Council for all highways-related mattersCoordinate with internal technical, operational, and project stakeholdersInterface with contractors and their design consultants to align standards and ensure consistency across projectsSupport the progression of designs through approval processes with the local authorityWork across multiple concurrent capital projects, ensuring quality and value are maintained throughoutKey RequirementsStrong civil engineering background with a focus on highways infrastructureDemonstrable experience in reviewing and approving highway designsKnowledge of Inverness/Highland road networks and local authority expectationsProven stakeholder management experience, ideally involving local councilsAbility to act as a central coordination point across multiple projects and disciplinesComfortable working ..... full job details .....
