About the Role

RGB seeks a Civil Engineer for their Romsey office, offering a permanent position with a salary of £30,000 to £55,000 per annum. This role involves leading drainage design, preparing Flood Risk Assessments and SAB applications, and developing sustainable drainage strategies. The successful candidate will possess strong skills in surface water and foul drainage, with additional highway design support for S278, S38, and S104 agreements. Working patterns are standard full-time hours. This position suits an experienced engineer ready to deliver community-focused projects within a multi-disciplinary consultancy.

We’re working in partnership with a well-established and respected multi-disciplinary consultancy, as they continue to expand their Romsey office. Due to sustained growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Civil Engineer with a strong background in drainage design to play a key role in delivering interesting projects that contribute positively to communities and the environment
The Role:
- Lead the design and delivery of surface water and foul drainage schemes
- Prepare Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs) and SAB applications
- Undertake drainage strategies in line with current regulations and best practice (SuDS focus)
- Support highway design where required, including S278, S38, and S104 agreements
- Manage project workflows, providing guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
- Liaise with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders including local authorities and statutory bodies
Projects span a wide range of sectors, including residential developments, education, conservation, industrial schemes, commercial projects and more.
Ideal Skills and Experience:
- 3+ years’ experience in civil engineering, with a strong emphasis on drainage design
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MicroDrainage/Flow (or similar software)
- Good understanding of SuDS principles and UK drainage standards
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ambition to progress professionally within a growing consultancy
