About the Role
This role is for a Civil Engineer based in Essex, with the position split between London and Braintree. The full-time post offers a salary of £35,000 to £45,000 per annum. You will join an employee-owned consultancy, contributing to infrastructure projects across the UK. Daily tasks involve designing and delivering schemes from initial concept through to construction, working alongside senior engineers and other specialists. The position supports progression towards professional Chartership. Your key skills should include civil engineering design and project delivery. Civil Engineer | London / Braintree | £35,000 - £45,000

I'm currently working with a highly respected multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy that's looking to strengthen its Civil Engineering team in either London or Braintree. With a diverse pipeline of work across the UK, this is an excellent opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers on a broad range of infrastructure projects whilst progressing towards professional Chartership.
Typical responsibilities include:
- Producing technical designs using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Designing highways, drainage and development infrastructure.
- Preparing hydraulic calculations and drainage models using InfoDrainage.
- Producing engineering drawings, reports and technical documentation.
- Carrying out site inspections and preparing follow-up reports.
- Attending client meetings and supporting project delivery from feasibility through to completion.
- Around 2-5 years' UK Civil Engineering experience.
- Experience in highways, drainage or development infrastructure design.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D and ideally InfoDrainage.
- Knowledge of Section 278, Section 38, Section 104 and SuDS would be advantageous.
- A Civil Engineering degree (or equivalent).
- Ambition to work towards EngTech, IEng or CEng.
- £35,000 - £45,000 depending on experience.
