An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Civil Engineer to join a well-established, multi-disciplinary consultancy working on a diverse portfolio of development and infrastructure projects in Bristol. This role offers the chance to contribute to the delivery of innovative engineering solutions while developing within a highly regarded civil engineering team.

The successful candidate will support the design and coordination of civil engineering projects, working alongside architects, building services engineers, project managers and cost consultants on schemes that can exceed -500 million in value. The consultancy has strong expertise across highways design, earthworks, drainage, flood alleviation and sustainable drainage systems, as well as infrastructure associated with large development projects including pumping stations, sewerage systems and external works.

The role will involve coordinating highways and drainage designs, preparing technical reports such as Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategies, and supporting projects from early concept through to completion. The position will also include client interaction, project meetings and occasional site visits to provide technical input and resolve engineering challenges.

Candidates should have experience in a similar civil engineering role, ideally within a consultancy environment, along with a good working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D. Experience with Infodrainage would be advantageous. A strong understanding of drainage design (foul and surface water), minor roadway design and relevant agreements including Sections 38 and 278 under the Highways Act, and Sections 104, 106 and 185 under the Water Industry Act, will be important.

Applicants should also be able to demonstrate proven design experience across project stages, including calculations, drawings and specifications, together with a solid understanding of drainage, SuDS, highways and earthworks. Membership of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), or an ambition to work towards professional membership, would be beneficial.
