A well-established and inclusive secondary provision in the London Borough of Brent is seeking a dedicated Citizenship Teacher to join its committed team. The school supports a small cohort of students aged 5-16 within an alternative provision setting, providing personalised pathways and a nurturing learning environment.

Role Overview - Citizenship Teacher

As a Citizenship Teacher, you will deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that support students'' understanding of society, democracy, and life in modern Britain. You will play a key role in promoting personal development, critical thinking, and social responsibility in a supportive and structured environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality Citizenship and PSHE lessons across KS3 and KS4
• Adapt teaching to meet the needs of students with SEMH needs and diverse learning profiles
• Promote understanding of British values, equality, and diversity
• Support students in developing confidence, resilience, and life skills
• Use assessment effectively to track progress and inform planning

Candidate Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Experience teaching Citizenship, PSHE, Sociology, or Humanities
• Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
• Experience or interest in working within a PRU, alternative provision, or SEMH setting
• Ability to deliver engaging, personalised lessons that motivate disengaged learners
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing
