The business has been operating within the HVAC industry for over 40 years, specialising in commercial chillers, boilers, and air conditioning systems. Over the last decade, services have expanded into Facilities Management (FM) as a natural progression to meet evolving site requirements.
There has been significant recent growth within the Energy Centre Services sector, and an experienced Chiller Technician is now required to support this expanding area alongside an established chiller maintenance operation.
With a growing number of sites being serviced year on year, strengthening the engineering team with the right skillset is essential to maintaining high standards and meeting operational demands.

The Role
The Chiller Technician will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and optimising complex systems across multiple sites. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently, as well as supervise others when required.
The focus goes beyond routine planned maintenance, with a strong emphasis on optimisation, efficiency, and asset performance improvement, supported by market-leading optimisation software. The aim is to deliver increased energy efficiency and reduced operating costs.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend reactive call-outs, troubleshooting and resolving highly complex systems
- Work across all chiller types, including:
- Absorption
- Screw
- Reciprocating
- Centrifugal
- Carry out servicing with an optimisation and efficiency focus
- Coordinate on-site activities for complex and multi-person tasks
- Diagnose and repair system faults using detailed technical knowledge
- Manage time, materials, and resources effectively
- Ensure Health & Safety compliance in line with site requirements
- Produce quotations for additional works and remedial repairs
- Communicate professionally with site contacts and stakeholders
Skills & Qualifications Required
- Refrigerant Handling Qualification (C&G 2079)
- Refrigeration & Air Conditioning qualification
- Time-served apprenticeship
- Strong understanding of refrigeration processes and optimisation techniques
- Proven experience diagnosing and repairing system malfunctions
- Excellent experience with:
- Water-cooled chillers
- Air-cooled chillers
- Service and maintenance background
- Commissioning experience
- IT literate and comfortable using electronic works management / CAFM systems
- Confident communicator
