Chiller / HVAC Engineer Company Overview:
Our client is an established provider of temporary heating and cooling solutions, supporting commercial and industrial customers across the UK. They are looking for an experienced Chiller / HVAC Engineer to join their service team, working on the installation, maintenance and repair of temporary cooling equipment across the South East.
This is a varied, hands-on opportunity for an engineer who enjoys working independently on customer sites, solving problems and being part of a wider service team.
Chiller / HVAC Engineer Role and Responsibilities:
- Install temporary chillers in line with RAMS and ensure equipment is safely prepared for hire.
- Carry out repairs and attend service breakdowns on customer sites.
- Install and work with AC units, including resolving issues with settings, customer requirements and site restrictions.
- Assist with boiler installations during the winter season.
- Install chillers and associated hoses, with some physically demanding work involved.
- Use and maintain a fully equipped company van and company tools to complete field-based work effectively.
- Order and maintain van and stores stock to ensure essential parts are available and customer waiting time is minimised.
- Support the development of associated products to meet customer and industry requirements.
- Identify and support operational improvements, with a focus on customer satisfaction and cost reduction.
- Work safely and ensure compliance with company systems, procedures and processes.
Chiller / HVAC Engineer Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 3 years' commercial HVAC/chiller experience.
- F-Gas qualified.
- Full UK driving licence.
- CSCS card.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Able to work independently and manage jobs through to completion.
- Organised, methodical and tidy in your approach.
- Good IT and administrative skills.
- Up-to-date knowledge of health and safety requirements.
- Flexible, approachable and able to work effectively as part of a wider service team.
Previous experience within the HVAC hire industry, an electrical qualification, MOD clearance or MOD site experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
