Job Description – Chilled Warehouse Team Leader

Location: Tewkesbury
Hours: Minimum 37.5 hours per week, 5 days out of 7 (shift rota)
Reports to: Chilled Warehouse Supervisor
Leads: Chilled Warehouse Operatives

About the Role

We are looking for a Chilled Warehouse Team Leader to take responsibility for leading a team in a busy chilled warehouse environment. You will ensure smooth, safe, and efficient daily operations while motivating and supporting staff to achieve high standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and guide the warehouse team handling receipt, picking, and returns of chilled and related products.
• Oversee and check all stock movements against tickets.
• Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe warehouse environment.
• Supervise the safe loading and unloading of delivery vehicles.
• Monitor staff performance and provide coaching or support as needed.
• Provide cover for the Warehouse Supervisor during absences.
• Comply with Health & Safety policies and encourage safe working practices.
• Build a positive, open, and supportive team culture.
• Carry out any reasonable tasks requested by senior staff.

Essential:

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Positive attitude, highly motivated, and reliable.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Flexible approach to working hours and deadlines.
• Understanding of Health & Safety practices.
• Good problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.

Desirable:

• Forklift Truck (FLT) or Powered Pallet Truck (PPT) licence.
• Previous Team Leader experience in a fast-paced warehouse or production environment.
• Experience in chilled, dairy, food production, or similar sectors.
• Confident using IT systems and making decisions under pressure.
