Chilled Store Forklift Operative

Job Overview:

We are currently seeking a reliable and physically capable Chilled Store Operative to join our warehouse team. This role is based in our chilled store (operating at 6-C and above), and involves accurate picking, handling of goods, and maintaining a high standard of work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Picking and handling products accurately, ensuring correct part codes are used

• Lifting and carrying items up to 25kg (average jerry can weight)

• Maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the chilled store

• Working safely and efficiently in a temperature-controlled environment

• Complying with all health and safety regulations, including COSHH where applicable

• Using MHE (Material Handling Equipment) as required, including forklifts (standard and Bendi where applicable)

• Wearing appropriate PPE and chilled store clothing as issued

Requirements:

• Physically fit and able to handle manual lifting (up to 25kg)

• Strong literacy and numeracy skills, with attention to detail for picking and part codes

• Previous warehouse or chilled store experience desirable

• COSHH awareness or experience is advantageous

• MHE licence required; Bendi licence highly advantageous

• Comfortable working in chilled conditions (protective clothing will be provided)

• A team player with a good attitude and a strong work ethic
