Job Title: Children's Support Worker

Location: Porthcawl, Bridgend, Wales / South Wales 

Salary: £14.24 - £24.48 per hour (including holiday pay and sleep-in rates)

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:
As a Children's Support Worker based in Porthcawl, your daily duties will include:

• Supporting children and young people with their daily activities, interests, and development.
• Promoting independence and wellbeing through personalised care and support.
• Attending trips, holidays, and weekend activities to enhance social skills and experiences.
• Ensuring the safety and welfare of children by following care plans and safeguarding guidelines.
• Providing emotional and practical support to young people, especially during challenging situations.
• Assisting with behaviour management and incident minimisation, including restraint training if qualified.
• Building strong, trusting relationships with children and young people to foster a supportive environment.

Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful as a Children's Support Worker, you will need:

• A minimum of 6 months' experience working with children or within a social care setting.
• Restraint training certification (or willingness to undergo training).
• A current Enhanced DBS check on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
• A valid UK Driving Licence.
• Understanding of trauma, homelessness, domestic abuse, and their impacts on young people.
• An empathetic, resilient, and caring nature with excellent relationship-building skills.
• The right to work in the UK.
