Children''s Social worker - Looked after Children

Our client Somerset council is looking for a Children''s Social worker to join their Looked after Children team.Somerset Council are looking for an experienced locum Social Worker to join our Children Looked After Team in Sedgemoor. The key purpose of the role is to build meaningful relationships with our children and young people, supporting them through effective care planning, and fulfilling our statutory duties and being the front line in our corporate parenting. The role Within our Children Looked After team, you will have a manageable caseload of children and young people looked after by Somerset, across the age range from 1 to 17, getting alongside them and supporting them to achieve their aspirations. You will need experience in care proceedings, supporting children looked after, and adoption processes. Here in Somerset, our manageable caseloads let you be the innovative and creative social worker you want to be - undertaking direct work with children and young people to hear their voice and understand their experiences. You will work with parents and the wider family network, with access to family-led meeting training and Family Group Conferencing, to support them to stay connected with their families and those important to them, as well as having the benefit of a Reunification team to provide intensive support when needed.
