Children’s Residential Support Worker – Bank

Location: Primarily Bradford, with opportunities in Keighley and Halifax

Salary: £12.21 + Sleep In Allowance ( If required )

Hours: Bank – flexible shifts including days, nights, weekends, sleep-ins, and emergency cover

Contract: Bank (as and when required)

Essential Requirements

• Experience working with children and young people in residential or care settings

• Skilled in managing challenging behaviour and crisis situations

• PMVA (or equivalent restraint/behaviour management) training

• First Aid qualification

• Knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and professional boundaries

• Understanding of mental health and its impact on young people

• Flexibility to work day or night shifts, weekends, and be available for emergency cover

• A valid UK driving licence (preferred)

The Role

As a Bank Children’s Residential Support Worker, you will:

• Provide safe, nurturing, and structured support to children and young people with complex needs

• Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours using approved techniques

• Support children during times of crisis, ensuring their safety and wellbeing

• Assist with routines, education, activities, and independent living skills

• Respond at short notice to cover staff shortages or emergencies across Bradford, Keighley, and Halifax

• Work collaboratively with the permanent team to deliver high standards of care
