Children's Social Worker - Assessment Team

Cambridgeshire County Council is looking for passionate and experienced Social Workers to join its Assessment Teams based in Huntingdon and South Cambridgeshire.

As a Social Worker within the Assessment Team, you will be responsible for undertaking high-quality statutory assessments and delivering effective interventions to safeguard children and support families.

You will work within a dynamic environment where no two days are the same, leading on complex assessments and making a positive difference to the lives of children and young people.

Locations: Huntingdon (PE29 3AD) & South Cambridgeshire (CB2 9NL)
Salary: -41,958 - -44,822 per annum

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake statutory assessments and formulate effective plans for children and families.
• Lead strategy discussions and multi-agency meetings.
• Complete Section 47 enquiries and safeguarding investigations.
• Prepare high-quality court reports under Sections 7, 37 and 31.
• Complete SWET assessments and care plans where required.
• Work closely with partner agencies to achieve positive and sustainable outcomes.
• Maintain accurate and timely case recording in line with statutory requirements.
• Manage a caseload of approximately 25 children and families.
