We are recruiting dedicated and resilient Waking Night Children''s Residential Support Workers to join a specialist 2-bed Children''s Residential Home in Crewe, supporting children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and Learning Disabilities (LD).

We are looking to recruit 5 Waking Night Support Workers to provide consistent, high-quality care and safeguarding throughout the night.

About the Service

This is a specialist 2-bed EBD/LD Children''s Home, currently supporting a 14-year-old girl with:

  • Mental health needs
  • ADHD
  • Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS)
  • Missing from Home protocols

The young person can present with highly challenging behaviours and periods of significant emotional distress, including risks to her own safety. Night support is essential in maintaining a safe, therapeutic and nurturing environment.

Each waking night shift is staffed by 2 Waking Night Support Workers, ensuring safe staffing levels and effective support.

The Role

As a Waking Night Children''s Residential Support Worker, you will:

  • Provide high-quality care and emotional support throughout the night.
  • Safeguard the young person and follow all care plans, risk assessments and Missing from Home protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records and complete incident reports where required.
  • Support the young person''s emotional wellbeing and promote a calm environment.
  • Work closely with the wider residential team to ensure continuity of care.
  • Complete household duties and handovers as part of the night shift.

What We''re Looking For

We are seeking individuals who are:

  • Experienced in children''s residential care, EBD, mental health or challenging behaviour (preferred).
  • Calm, resilient and able to remain professional under pressure.
  • Passionate about improving the lives of vulnerable children and young people.
  • Flexible and reliable with a strong commitment to safeguarding.
  • Able to work a minimum of 33 hours per week.
