Registered Manager – Children''s Residential Home

Location: Walsall, WS5
Salary: £55,000 – £60,000 per annum (DOE) + Performance Bonus
Home: Brand-new 2-bed Children''s Residential Home (EBD)

What We''re Looking For
  • Existing Ofsted Registered Manager, or an experienced Deputy Manager ready to step up
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards it)
  • Experience working within children''s residential care, ideally supporting children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD)
  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice
  • Good knowledge of the Children''s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards
  • Experience with Regulation 44 and Regulation 45 processes
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and safer recruitment
  • Previous involvement in achieving Good or Outstanding Ofsted outcomes is desirable
  • Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills
  • Enhanced DBS check
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Ability to commute to Walsall
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Ofsted registration process for the home
  • Prepare the home for its first Ofsted inspection and work towards a Good or Outstanding rating
  • Recruit, lead and develop a high-performing staff team
  • Create a safe, nurturing and child-centred environment
  • Ensure full compliance with Children''s Homes Regulations, Quality Standards and safeguarding requirements
  • Oversee care planning, risk management and quality assurance
  • Manage the day-to-day running of the home
  • Build positive relationships with local authorities, families and partner agencies
  • Monitor compliance, performance and continuous improvement
  • Maintain accurate records and regulatory documentation
  • Ensure children and young people receive high-quality care and achieve positive outcomes
