Childcare Solicitor - Locum

We are currently partnering with a Local Authority based in the West Midlands, that is recruiting for a Childcare Solicitor to join their team on a 3-4 month locum basis, with opportunities for an extension beyond. The client is able to consider a 4 or 5 day working week. Applicants must be Midlands based, as attendance for court hearings is a prerequisite of this post. The role presents the opportunity to work on complex and meaningful cases impacting children''s welfare. The successful applicant will join a collaborative and professional legal environment. The team benefits from a great deal of administration support, enabling solicitors to focus on the care cases. Key Requirements: Must be a Solicitor, Barrister, or FILEX with litigation accreditation. Candidates must hold a current practising certificate and have a proven experience handling childcare law cases independently. Candidates must be able to demonstrate a strong knowledge of children''s social care legislation, including: Care proceedings Pre-proceedings (PLO) Emergency protection orders Special guardianship Secure accommodation Deprivation of liberty Adoption If you meet the above criteria and are available for locum work, we''d love to hear from you.
