About the Role
This full-time Childcare Solicitor position in Lancashire offers a salary of £40,000 to £60,000, dependent on experience, with hybrid working available. The successful candidate, with at least three years' post-qualification experience, will manage a varied caseload of public law children matters, including care proceedings and emergency protection applications. Responsibilities include advising parents, guardians and CAFCASS-appointed Children's Guardians, providing expert legal advice and representation, and maintaining high standards of client care. Collaboration with colleagues to support departmental development is essential. Strong advocacy, case management and communication skills are required for this rewarding role within a supportive legal team.

THE ROLE:
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver an outstanding client experience and contribute to the continued development of the department.
• You will manage a busy caseload of childcare matters, providing expert legal advice and representation to clients while delivering the highest standards of client care.
• Advising parents, guardians and CAFCASS-appointed Children's Guardians on a wide range of childcare matters.
• Managing all aspects of public law children work, including care proceedings and emergency protection matters.
• Advising on police protection orders, child protection case reviews and related public law issues.
• Providing supervision, guidance and support to junior Solicitors, Paralegals, Caseworkers and Trainees.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
• Applications are sought from Childcare Solicitors with a minimum of 3 Years PQE.
• Experience managing a varied public law children caseload independently.
• Strong technical knowledge of Legal Aid and CCMS procedures.
• It is essential that you have exceptional communication, advocacy and client care skills.
• Experience supervising or mentoring junior colleagues would be advantageous.
