CFO - Equity Role | Clean Energy Innovation | Oil and Gas Experience RequiredWe are looking for an experienced CFO or Finance Director with a proven track record in the oil and gas sector to guide our clean energy startup from its current development stage to revenue generation and successful scale-up. This is an equity-only role that remains unpaid until we achieve consistent revenue or significant fundraising, with an expected transition to a paid, full-time position in approximately 6 to 9 months. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, have modelled upstream and downstream financial models that have successfully raised capital, and have additional exposure to renewable energy, which is preferred.Company

Company DescriptionZenco Group is transforming the energy sector by making fossil fuel extraction redundant through our circular bioeconomy approach. We are developing drop-in net-zero biofuels and chemicals that are chemically identical to petroleum products, requiring no infrastructure modifications. Operating between the UAE and UK, we\''re creating clean alternatives to extracted oil and gas - grown, not extracted. Our integrated biorefinery will produce renewable crude oil, renewable diesel, aviation fuel, marine fuels, and industrial chemicals from clean energy-powered cultivation of algae and seaweed.Role Description

This remote CFO position involves overseeing financial planning, statements, reporting, and daily finance operations to ensure the company\''s financial health and maintain a rapid growth trajectory. Reporting directly to the CEO, the CFO will leverage their expertise in the oil and gas sector to navigate energy market dynamics, identify potential financial challenges, and lead fundraising efforts (aiming for a strong debt-to-equity ratio) to maintain positive cash flow during our scaling phase.Key Qualifications

Previous experience as a CFO or Finance Director in the oil and gas sector (minimum 5 years)Deep understanding of energy market dynamics, commodity pricing, and sector-specific financial challengesExperience with energy project financing, offtake agreements, and infrastructure investmentsExpertise in financial planning, statements, and reporting for energy companiesProficiency in cash flow generation, PandL management, and balance sheetsSkilled in complex project modelling for energy sector funders and investorsStrong analytical skills with insight into energy marketsProven success in fundraising within the energy sectorExperience with international operations and multi-jurisdictional finance structuresAbility to interpret financial data, energy market trends, and commodity cyclesExcellent communication and interpersonal skills for investor relationsBachelor\''s or Master\''s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related fieldACCA, ACA, or an equivalent professional qualificationEligibility to work in the UKWhat We Offer
