About the Role
The Chemical Instrumentation Technician position is based in Southampton with a global technology company focused on energy innovation and sustainability. This permanent role offers a salary of £40,000 to £45,000 per annum and requires working within a chemical manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include performing planned and breakdown instrument maintenance, supporting project installations and commissioning, and reviewing drawings. The technician will assist or supervise contractors, execute critical repairs and inspections, and procure necessary materials and tools. Liaising with instrument, electrical, and specialist engineers is expected, alongside participation in audits and safety initiatives. Key skills include a recognised apprenticeship or technical qualification (ONC, HNC), a minimum of five years’ experience in refinery or chemical industries, and approval to work in hazardous areas.
