About the Role

Manpower UK seeks a Chef for an established restaurant in Woodstock, Oxfordshire. This permanent, full-time position involves working 5 days out of 7, including evenings and weekends, so flexibility is essential. The salary ranges from £30,000 to £36,000 per annum, plus tips, depending on experience. Applications are welcome from Commis Chefs through to Chef de Partie level. The successful candidate will take ownership of a designated kitchen section, such as grill, sauce, or pastry, ensuring dishes are prepared and presented to a high standard. Consistency and quality are central to this role, which supports the restaurant's daily service.

Manpower Recruitment are working with an established Restaurant in the Woodstock, Oxfordshire and are looking for a new Chef, to join a busy kitchen environment.
This role is a full-time role, working 5/7 days, including weekends and evenings, so flexibility is needed.
My client is open to reviewing all levels of chefs from a Commis chef to a Chef De Partie.
The role is paying £30000 to £36000pa, depending on experience. (Plus Tips)
Job Overview
The Chef is responsible for running a specific section of the kitchen, ensuring the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes in line with company standards. This role plays a key part in maintaining consistency.
Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of a designated section of the kitchen (e.g., grill, sauce, pastry), ensuring smooth service and consistent food quality.
  • Prepare, cook, and present dishes according to established recipes and standards.
  • Maintain high levels of cleanliness, organisation, and food safety within your section.
  • Monitor portion control and minimise food waste to support cost management.
  • Ensure all food is stored, handled, and prepared in compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Support stock control, including ordering, rotation, and inventory checks.
  • Work efficiently during busy service periods, maintaining attention to detail under pressure.
  • Step up to support other sections or senior chefs when required.


Key Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or strong Commis Chef ready to step up.
  • Solid knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen operations.
  • Ability to manage a section independently during service.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Passion for food, quality, and continuous improvement.


Qualifications (Desirable)

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Professional Cookery (or equivalent).
  • Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 or above).
  • Allergen awareness training.
