DBS School Chef (TEMP)
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Chef to join a school catering team in Weston-super-Mare on a temporary basis through Berkeley Scott. You will be responsible for preparing and serving nutritious, balanced meals in line with school dietary requirements, while maintaining the highest standards of food hygiene and kitchen safety.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook meals for pupils and staff, ensuring variety and nutritional balance.
Work within set menus and budgets, adapting to dietary needs and allergens.
Ensure compliance with food hygiene and health andamp; safety regulations.
Supervise kitchen staff and support team members as required.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen at all times.
Manage stock levels, deliveries, and ordering where necessary.
Requirements
Previous experience as a Chef or Cook, ideally in a school or similar catering environment.
Food Safety Level 2 (minimum) andndash; Level 3 preferred.
Good understanding of allergen awareness and special dietary needs.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain).
