About the Role
Berkeley Scott is recruiting a Chef for temporary roles across schools in Lancaster, working with Impact Food Group from September. This position offers weekday, term-time shifts with competitive pay and weekly wages. As an Education Chef, you will prepare and cook nutritious meals for students, ensuring high standards of hygiene and food safety. The role suits those seeking work-life balance, with weekends off and potential for long-term or permanent placements. Additional shifts in other sectors may be available during holidays. Candidates should possess solid culinary skills and experience in volume cooking. A £50 refer-a-friend scheme is offered after a referral completes ten shifts.

What Youandrsquo;ll Be Doing as an Education Chef
- Preparing and cooking nutritious, balanced meals for students and staff
- Planning menus in line with school guidelines and dietary requirements
- Ensuring high standards of food hygiene, safety, and kitchen cleanliness
- Managing stock, ordering supplies, and minimising waste
- Supervising and supporting kitchen assistants during service
- Adhering to all food safety and health andamp; safety regulations
What We Are Looking For In Our Education Chefs
- Minimum 6 months experience as senior Chef andndash; preferably in a school or similar environment
- Right to work in the UK andndash; sponsorship is not available for these roles
- Enhanced DBS with child workforce or willing to obtain is essential
- Strong, reliable, and excellent communication skills are essential
- A passion for providing healthy meals for children and young people
- Minimum Level 2 Food Safety and Allergens, as well as additional compliance training, is essential and will be provided free of charge for all applicants
Rates of pay are dependent on experience and/or the specific site/client.
Pay rates are dependent on level of experience and role offered.
