The Opportunity

We are currently seeking an experienced Chartered Building Surveyor for a long-term freelance opportunity in Essex, supporting the delivery of education sector projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for a surveyor looking for continuity of work, with projects that could run for several years. You will take on an onsite Project Management role, providing a key point of contact for project delivery and ensuring works are progressing in line with the required standards.

The Role

• Undertake onsite Project Management duties across education projects.
• Monitor contractor progress, quality of works and programme delivery.
• Act as the client''s representative on site, providing oversight of project activities.
• Report on progress, identify potential risks and resolve issues as they arise.
• Liaise with contractors, consultants, school representatives and wider project teams.
• Ensure works are delivered in accordance with specifications, relevant standards and health and safety requirements.
• Provide regular updates and reports to the wider project management team.

Requirements

• MRICS, MCIOB or MCABE qualification is essential.
• Previous experience working on education sector projects is essential.
• Experience undertaking onsite Project Management or contract administration duties.
• Strong understanding of building works, contractor management and project delivery.
• Excellent communication, reporting and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage activities effectively on site.
