CFD Engineer

Orion are hiring for a CFD Engineer to join our clients cutting-edge Engineering team, focused on fluid system design. Our client is focusing on industries such as naval, civil nuclear and other high-integrity industries. If you''re passionate about simulation-driven engineering, we want to hear from you.
CFD Engineer Responsibilities:
- Develop and run CFD simulations using tools like ANSYS Fluent, STAR-CCM, and OpenFOAM to model complex fluid flow and heat transfer systems.
- Lead system-level modelling, performance analysis, and optimisation across multi-component assemblies.
- Translate simulation data into actionable design improvements across structure, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Support R&D and Engineering teams with validation, testing, and continuous improvement of both new and existing products.
CFD Engineer Experience
- Strong hands-on experience with CFD software (preferably ANSYS Fluent, STAR-CCM, OpenFOAM or similar).
- Solid understanding of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and mechanical systems – ideally with experience in marine, nuclear, or aerospace sectors.
- Ability to interpret simulation results to drive technical decisions.
- Confident communicator and collaborator in cross-disciplinary teams.
