Job Summary
The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) plays a crucial role at NGHS by providing both clinical and administrative support to medical professionals. Responsibilities entail a mix of patient care, clerical duties, and assisting practitioners with medical procedures. This position requires certification and often involves working in various healthcare settings such as hospitals, private practices, and clinics.
Minimum Job Qualifications
Licensure or other certifications: Active Registry or Certification as a Medical Assistant through a recognized certification body. Current BLS certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.Educational Requirements: High School Diploma or GEDMinimum Experience:Other:

Taking patient histories and vital signsPreparing patients for examinationAssisting physicians during exams and proceduresCollecting and processing laboratory specimensAdministering medications as directed by the physicianPerforming basic laboratory testsInstructing patients about medication and special dietsRemoving sutures and changing dressingsFacilitating patient education and promoting health habitsGreeting and assisting patients as they arriveScheduling appointments and managing calendarsMaintaining patient records and filing documentsManaging correspondence and communicationCoordinating referrals and follow-up careEnsuring compliance with healthcare regulations and policies
